Volunteer
Thank you for your interest in volunteering! Volunteers play a critical role in helping us fulfill all of our clients' needs. We're excited to know that so many of you want to give back and support survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Follow these steps to become a volunteer:
Steps to Become a Volunteer
-
Fill out the application by clicking on the 'Be A Volunteer' Button - and click 'Submit'.
-
Complete your background check. Our clients deal with very private matters, so it's imperative that we protect their confidentiality and ensure our volunteers are outstanding citizens. NOTE: If you're unable to cover the initial cost of your background check, please let us know - we might be able to assist.
-
Complete Victim Services 101 (VS101) Training. The training link will be automatically sent to you after you complete the application. VS 101 is an introductory training that provides insight into Safe Alliance's programs and services; domestic violence; sexual assault; client-centered/trauma-informed care; and best practices. PLEASE NOTE: There are additional training requirements depending on the program you want to volunteer with.
-
Connect with your program coordinator. After completing VS 101, your program coordinator will contact you within 1-2 weeks. The coordinator will guide you through any additional requirements and provide training for specific duties.
